Do you crave seriously intellectual, fun book talk?
We’re serving stimulating literary conversations with a side of science, philosophy, cultural criticism, art, and history
The Los Angeles Review of Books' Board of Directors request the pleasure of your company at this month's Luminary Dinner, LARB’s intimate literary dinner series. Bringing our exciting online literary discussion to life, Luminary Dinners are opportunities to engage in stimulating conversations with celebrated authors and others interested in art, literature, and the creative life of the mind.
“I hope you can join us for this dinner, when we will be joined by fiction writer Krys Lee,whose work is regularly acclaimed as ‘breathtaking,’ ‘elegant,’ and ‘extraordinary’ by reviewers in the US, UK, Korea, Thailand, and elsewhere. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Krys was raised in California and Washington, and studied in the United States and England. Her debut book, Drifting House was on many 2012 ‘best books of the year’ lists, was a finalist for the 2012 BBC International Story Prize, and won the 2012 Story Prize Spotlight Award. Her work has appeared in Kenyon Review, Narrative, Granta, The Guardian, Financial Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Conde Nast Traveller, and other publications. She is a professor of creative writing at Yonsei University’s Underwood International College and splits her time between Korea and San Francisco. A favorite of mine and Roseanne’s, she is one of the most exciting young writers to emerge in recent years.”
